I'm a 25 year old girl, working in television in Los Angeles and trying my hardest not to get pulled under. This is my log of my journey towards success in health and happiness.

    Feeling Nauseous…

After my salad for lunch. I don’t really know why… it was really delicious. It was -

    - 1 cup butter lettuce
    - 1 cup arugula
    - 2 oz. grilled chicken breast
    - 1/4 cup scallions
    - 2 tbs. dried currants
    - 2 tbs. pine nuts
    - 2 tbs. mustard vinaigrette

    - which filled me up so quickly, that I could only eat about 3/4 of the serving. And now I’m sitting in the office feeling super nauseous. And before anyone suggests it, no, I could not be pregnant (that’s my mom’s go-to response whenever I feel sick). Not sure what to do, especially since there are a few more hours left to the work day. :-/

    Womp, womp.

  3.

Lunch time, lunch time, lunch time! - I’m excited, can you tell?

    - 4 turkey meatballs
    - 1/2 packet of brown rice
    - 1 cup of greenbeans

And a giant bottle of water. I think I’m set. *fist pump*

    Day 10: Lunch Report

Lunch was super lame today. Usually, all the assistants take a lunch together and sit in a conference room to chat, watch tv, etc. But today (since pilot season is in-fricking-sane), there was a meeting in the conference room, and so we were all relegated to our desks. Super sadface.

I had another TJ’s frozen meal, which I’m starting to get a little sick of, so I need to find some new easy recipes for lunch on the job. And to treat myself I made coffee with creamer because the tea this morning didn’t cut it caffeine wise.

    Calorie breakdown…

Farfalle with spinach - 390 cals.
    1 cup coffee - 2 cals.
    3 tsp. creamer - 30 cals.

    TOTAL CALORIES = 422

And since I missed my socializing at lunch today, I’m insanely grateful that I’m seeing my best friend tonight after work to hang out. Sometimes it gets pretty damn lonely sitting in front of a computer and answering phones all day.

  5.

    Day 9: Lunch Report

Oops. Busy day at work today, haha. I’m still going strong with bringing my own lunch. Today I indulged in one of my favorite Trader Joe’s frozen meals - shells with brie and asparagus.

    TOTAL CALORIES = 680

But it was super filling and delicious. The packaging does not lie - it was sinfully rich and worth every bite! Everyone was jealous of me as we ate lunch together, haha. And I’m on bottle number three of water. I finally calculated how many cups of water are in my water bottle, and it’s two and a half, so technically I’ve already had five cups today. Woot!

I also finished Chapter 16 of my novel, which I’m VERY excited about. This means I’m coming out of the darkness and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, which is crazy. I’ve been working on this project for about a year, and it’s pretty unreal to be so close to the end. Then, of course there’s the going back and editing it, but I’m choosing not to think about that right now. One goal at a time, right?

Now I just need to come up with a workout for tonight…

    Day 8: Lunch Report

Ate the final leftovers of my whole wheat fusili with peas and broccoli. It wasn’t all that much, but I was still pretty full from my breakfast/snack. Plus, it looked so pretty and green. I’m trying to incorporate more vegetables into my diet.

    Calorie breakdown…

3/4 cup whole wheat fusili - 150 cals.
    1/4 cup peas - 32 cals.
    1/4 cup broccoli - 8 cals.
    1 tsp. olive oil - 120 cals.

    TOTAL CALORIES = 310

And I just refilled my water bottle and wrote 800 words of my next chapter. Feeling good.

    Day 5: Lunch Report

Lunch was hard today. You’d think working on a TV lot in Los Angeles there’d be way more healthy options, but I guess all the actors bring their own food/don’t eat anyway, so…

Anyway, the only salad available was a steak salad, which sounded delicious and was most likely the healthiest option there. I’m not sure how many calories were in it, which is definitely the danger of having someone else prepare your food. But it was a lot of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, persian cucumbers, and crumbled bleu cheese with about 3 oz. skirt steak and a light dijon dressing. I can’t even approximate, but I’m sure it was in the higher calorie zone because of the steak, cheese, and dressing. Argh. It was loaded with veggies, though!

I’ll try and do better at dinner and work out extra hard tomorrow and Sunday. And I think a fitness picspam is in order, just to remind me why I need to keep it up!
